The mission of the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department is to provide exceptional parks, facilities, programs and services to improve the quality of life for all.

Volunteering in San Antonio’s Parks provides an invaluable contribution to our community and volunteers play a critical role in keeping our parks maintained. With over 250 parks across San Antonio, we welcome those with all interest and experience levels. From gardening and mulching projects to tree adoptions and litter pickups as well as events such as Earth Day—the needs are as diverse as your interests, skills and abilities. We have a lot of ground to cover, and we welcome you to partner with us to help us achieve our community goals of keeping our parks and natural spaces beautiful for generations to enjoy.
