Join us for National Public Lands Day at the beautiful Medina River Natural Area and assist with invasive species removal. National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest single-day volunteer event for public lands, hosted annually on the fourth Saturday of September to promote conservation, outdoor recreation, and community stewardship.

All tools provided. If you have your own work or garden gloves, be sure to bring them (we'll have extras on hand). Also bring sunscreen, bug spray, and water.

Join Parks & Recreation and Great Springs Project from 9: 00 a.m.–11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 29 at Olmos Basin Park for a litter cleanup. Volunteers will work together to remove trash from Olmos and help create a cleaner, healthier environment for wildlife and our community.

All materials provided, including gloves, trash bags, and litter grabbers.

The Friends of McAllister Park (FOMP) is working to keep McAllister Park beautiful by slowing the spread of invasive Johnson Grass. Duties may include cutting seed heads, raking thatch, digging and removing rhizomes, or replanting natives.

Love painting? Volunteers are needed to repaint murals at Garza Park on Saturday, August 22 from 9 a.m to 11 a.m.

No prior painting experience is required, and all supplies are provided. Be sure to bring plenty of water, a hat, and sunscreen. We will also provide shade canopies as we work along the sidewalk to repaint.

Painting activities are suitable for ages 10 & up.

Volunteer for the Woodlawn Lake Centennial Garden! Volunteers are needed to assist with general garden maintenance, including pruning, weeding, and spreading mulch. Volunteer Master Naturalists will be on site to answer questions and educate anyone interested in learning more about native plants. 

All gardening supplies will be provided. If you have your own garden or work gloves, please bring them.

Calling all helping hands, butterfly enthusiasts, pollinator protectors, and nature lovers! Join us behind the scenes of the 11th Annual Monarch Butterfly & Pollinator Festival as we transform Brackenridge Park into a day of wonder, discovery, and hands-on nature education for more than 10,000 community members.

Volunteer opportunities are available Thursday, October 1 through Saturday, October 3 and include festival setup, decorating, educational activations, guest engagement, logistics, and breakdown. Whether you have a few hours to give or want to bring a volunteer group, we'd love to have you involved. We offer a variety of roles and will do our best to match volunteers with their interests and abilities.  After submitting the interest form, our team will follow up with placement details and logistics.
