Description

Learn about what it takes to perform as the Parks & Recreation Mascot – Parker the Texas Red Oak Tree! This info session will provide basic details about Parker’s personality and frequent activities, and the check boxes for volunteers.

Parker is often invited to special events hosted by City departments, as well as many external organizations.

Some activities Parker has participated in include:

  • Ribbon cuttings
  • Dance-offs
  • Sports events
  • Filming (commercials & social media)
  • Photo shoots FIESTA events (media days, short parades, official appearances)
  • School events

A few things we’re looking for in Parker actors:

  • Positive & happy energy
  • Ability to interact with people of all ages and activity levels
  • Ability to give non-verbal cues
  • Specific height range: min. 5’4” – max. 6’
